Ed Hutcheson of Osseo MN sent me this picture of his super clean 1969 Chevelle SS 396. Ed has had the car several years, and it still had the original 396 when he bought it. The body has no "mud", although it had three new fenders and rockers before being repainted. It has a 454 ci engine that was just installed in October. The 454 is backed by a Muncie 4 speed and a 3:73:1 rear end.
Ed tells me that he still has the original 396 in storage. The 396 features a Lunati 292, 540 lift cam, Torker 2 intake with a Edelbrock 750 performer carb. Ed also tells me that he enjoys swapping motors on an annual basis, trying new combinations.
